Puerto Rican Olympic boxer Ashleyann Lozada plans to return to the ring in November, aiming to either defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) Gold title or compete in an eliminator bout in the 122-pound super bantamweight division. Lozada, who remains undefeated with a 5-0 record and one knockout, stated that her team is working to secure a fight that would allow her to ascend to the number one ranking and move closer to a world championship opportunity. The current division champion is Danish boxer Melissa Mortensen, who won the title in August 2026.
Lozada is currently ranked second, and the number one spot is vacant. Although Lozada did not identify her potential opponent, it is reported that Turkish boxer Seren Cetin, with a 13-1 record and seven knockouts, is being considered. However, Lozada emphasized that no agreement has been reached, and formal conversations with Cetin's team have not begun.
Lozada won the WBA Gold title on August 15 by defeating Paulette Cuesta via unanimous decision in Atlanta. The location of her November return has not been determined, with Lozada suggesting that the fight may take place in the United States, as she does not expect a foreign opponent to agree to fight her in Puerto Rico.
