Man Charged with Breaking Bus Glass and Attempting to Remove Driver from Vehicle

Samuel Freytes Piris, a 32-year-old man, faces charges for allegedly using a golf club to break the glass of an Autoridad Metropolitana de Autobuses (AMA) bus in Bayamón and then attempting to forcibly remove a driver from her vehicle. The incident occurred on August 31, according to the investigation led by Agent Gamalier Soto under the supervision of Sergeant Glenda Paniagua.

Freytes Piris was charged with attempted robbery, aggravated damage, and violations of the Weapons Law, specifically for carrying and using a blunt weapon. The investigation was conducted by the Division of Property Crimes, Robberies, and Frauds of the Bayamón Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) in coordination with Prosecutor Laura Arril.

Judge Aylin Ramos of the Bayamón Tribunal found cause for arrest and set a $100,000 bail, which Freytes Piris did not pay, resulting in his arrest and admission to the Bayamón Correctional Institution 705.
