Published Sep 8, 2026 · via El Nuevo Día

Puerto Rican salsero Giro López, whose given name is Jorge Manuel López, is seeking to reconnect with his Puerto Rican audience after 33 years in the music industry. López debuted at 13 years old as a member of the group Los Chicos, replacing Chayanne, and remained active with the group for four years.

He has since maintained a successful career, with performances in various Latin American countries. López recently released a new single, 'El cambio no', a salsa version of a song originally performed by Laura Pausini, as part of a new musical phase.

The single was produced by Jay Lugo and will be part of an upcoming album, set to be released in 2027, which will feature 10 songs that pay homage to renowned interpreters and composers. López is known for creating positive themes that respect women and love, and his new album will include baladas adapted to salsa, with elements that fit his musical line and have not been previously recorded by his colleagues.
