Slim Chickens, a US fried-chicken chain based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, will open its first Puerto Rico location this Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in San Patricio Village, on Avenida González Giusti in Guaynabo. The chain, which has more than 300 restaurants worldwide including locations in the US, UK, Europe and the Middle East, represents an initial investment of $1.5 million and will create more than 50 direct jobs. The opening is part of a broader expansion plan that envisions developing five Slim Chickens restaurants across Puerto Rico over the next five years.
Luis M. Jové, an executive with SC Puerto Rico Franchise, LLC, said the company's more than 40 years of experience developing and operating restaurant franchises gives it confidence the brand will be well received locally, and expressed enthusiasm about investing further on the island through job creation and new projects. San Patricio and SC Puerto Rico Franchise, LLC said the move continues efforts to bring innovative, high-growth brands to Puerto Rico.
