Cangrejeras de Santurce Seek to Regain BSNF Title

Published Sep 9, 2026 · via El Nuevo Día

The Cangrejeras de Santurce will start the 2026 Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) season on Monday, aiming to regain the league title after missing the final series in 2025 despite leading the circuit in regular-season wins. The team presented its players at a press conference on Wednesday, highlighting a mix of youth and experience, including imported players such as Teana Muldrow, a former league MVP.

Muldrow's addition is seen as a key factor in compensating for the loss of Nairimar Vargas, a two-time award winner as the sixth-best player in the tournament. Coach Fernando Casablanca and team captain Rita Acevedo expressed confidence in the team's balance, with a strong perimeter game and a good balance in the paint.

The Cangrejeras will open their season against the Ganaderas de Hatillo.
