Nine Arrested for Alleged Drug Trafficking in Metro Area

Nine individuals were arrested yesterday by agents of the Metropolitan Drug Division and the Housing Department as part of an anti-drug plan involving surveillance in areas where controlled substances were being sold. The Police Press Office reported that controlled substances, pills, cash, and paraphernalia were seized. In the Alejandrino residential area, on the borders of Guaynabo and Cupey, 31-year-old Guillermo De Jesús Valdés Marín was arrested, with $483 in cash, 94 bags, 18 rocks, and 35 marijuana cigarettes seized as evidence.

In the Jardines de Sellés residential area in Río Piedras, Jesús Manuel Guerrero López, Pedro Antonio Adorno López, and Alex Davis Rivera Ramos were arrested, with 392 crack capsules, 98 heroin decks, and $1,031 in cash seized. Correa Díaz, Joshua Cruz Rosario, and Steven Fernández Meléndez were arrested in the El Trébol residential area in Río Piedras, with 1,309 crack capsules, 46 bags of cocaine, and $2,792 in cash seized. A metal gate used to control access to the area where transactions were allegedly taking place was also removed. The cases will be consulted with the San Juan Prosecutor's Office for the filing of corresponding charges.
