An elderly man was shot early Thursday morning while driving on kilometer 19.8 of highway PR-2 in Toa Baja, according to the Police Press Office. Authorities were alerted at 9:06 a.m. through the 9-1-1 Emergency System about a person shot.
When police units arrived, they found a 72-year-old man inside a vehicle with multiple bullet wounds. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown.
Paramedics transported the man to the Centro Médico de Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. His current medical condition has not been disclosed.
