'Extranjera' Expands Horizons of Puerto Rican Cinema

The Puerto Rican film 'Extranjera' tells the story of Epa, an art teacher played by Ari Mejías, whose life is affected when her father, played by Daniel Lugo, becomes the central figure in a political corruption investigation. As public opinion implicates her in her father's illicit activities, Epa tries to escape and embarks on a journey to Taiwan, where she attempts to repair her complicated relationship with her mother, played by Patricia Reyes Spíndola, and find the strength to face the problems threatening her mental health.
