LUMA schedules Thursday maintenance work that may cause outages in 15 towns

LUMA Energy announced maintenance, vegetation removal, and infrastructure improvement work scheduled for Thursday across various municipalities in Puerto Rico, part of efforts to strengthen the electrical system, increase pole resilience, and address customer-requested work. Hazardous vegetation removal is planned in Cidra (Barrio Arena, Santa María sector), Cabo Rojo (numerous communities including Elizabeth, Puerto Real, Cayo del Sol, Marie Garden Apartments, Playa Buyé, Puertas de Buyé, and James Garfield Elementary School, plus dozens of listed sectors and developments), Ponce (Anaida Gardens, Campo Alegre, Alta Vista, Sagrado Corazón, Santa Clara, Villas de Sagrado Corazón, Parque Los Almendro, Villa Panonia, Barrio Sabanetas, and the La Ceiba public housing project), San Juan (Wonderville urbanización on Urano and Neptuno streets, and El Paraíso), and Vega Baja (Jardines de Vega Baja).

Pole resilience improvement work is scheduled in Lares, in Barrio Pueblo's La Sierra sector and Barrio Palmar Llano along PR-111, kilometer 37.6. LUMA did not specify exact hours or the expected duration of any outages resulting from the work.
