The Puerto Rico Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DCR) held a professional development day for social penitentiary service technicians, penal record technicians, and social workers. The event included workshops aimed at strengthening skills related to teamwork, emotional load management, and effective communication. The goal was to provide practical tools to enhance individual performance and collaboration among different areas of the Department.

According to DCR Secretary Julie O. Gómez Gómez, these professionals perform high-responsibility functions that directly impact correctional and rehabilitation processes. The program featured three workshops: 'Juntos Brillamos Más' by Professor Gladys Malpica Santiago, 'Liberando Cargas' by Doctor Waleska Santiago, and 'Comunicación: Escucha Activa' by Doctor Víctor Maldonado Santiago.

The activity was coordinated by the Auxiliary Secretariat of Programs and Services, led by Madeline González Ortiz. The Secretariat is responsible for promoting programs and initiatives to support rehabilitation processes and service provision within the correctional system.
