Dreamers Academy, a public school in Sarasota, Florida, founded by Puerto Rican women, is seeking talent from Puerto Rico to fill teaching positions for the 2027-2028 school year. The school will offer a virtual orientation on September 17 at 6:00 p.m. to provide information on available opportunities, certification requirements, benefits, professional development alternatives, and the application process. According to Dr.
Catherine Rodríguez, Director of Dreamers Academy, the experience with Puerto Rican teachers has exceeded expectations, bringing academic preparation, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to educational excellence to the school. After the virtual orientation, the school's team will hold in-person meetings at three universities in Puerto Rico: the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, on September 30; the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Ponce Campus, on October 1; and the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, on October 2. Dreamers Academy is looking for certified professionals in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and specialty areas such as Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, and Special Education.
