The seismic sequence affecting the south-southwest region of Puerto Rico remains active following a magnitude 4.8 earthquake recorded this morning, according to Gisela Báez, coordinator of the Geophysical Data Analysis and Processing Area at the Puerto Rico Seismic Network. The Seismic Network has registered at least 16 aftershocks since the 4.8 magnitude quake struck.
Báez confirmed that seismic activity in the area continues to be monitored as part of the ongoing sequence in the south-southwest region of the island.
