Jorge 'Georgie' Navarro, a representative of the New Progressive Party, is undergoing rehabilitation after undergoing left knee replacement surgery at the Professional Hospital in Guaynabo. He is currently hospitalized at the Centro Médico in Río Piedras, where he will remain until September 29, receiving physical and occupational therapy to regain mobility.
Navarro had been experiencing chronic arthritis in his knees due to years of playing basketball and running. Despite the challenges, he has managed the pain without major complications and plans to continue working remotely on legislative projects, including a measure to establish a uniform evaluation system for administrative judges and government examiners.
Navarro will be out of the Capitol for his recovery but does not intend to disconnect from his legislative work.
