Published Sep 21, 2026 · via Metro PR

The American Cancer Society of Puerto Rico (SACC PR) launched the 'Te quiero en mi futuro' campaign to promote early detection of breast cancer and encourage family and friends to discuss the importance of mammograms with women. According to the organization, breast cancer accounted for 31% of all cancers diagnosed in women in Puerto Rico between 2018 and 2022, with an average of 2,410 invasive breast cancer diagnoses per year.

The campaign features breast cancer survivor and caregiver Wanda Gisela as its godmother, as well as Yan Ruiz and Laihany Pontón as spokespersons. The official 2026 campaign t-shirt will be available exclusively at Me Salvé stores, with all proceeds staying in Puerto Rico to fund programs and services for patients, survivors, caregivers, and their families.

The campaign also includes 34 marches across Puerto Rico as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities.
