Federal District Court Chief Judge Raúl Arias Marxuach ordered the return of a bail bond posted in 2024 by urban music artist CDobleta, whose legal name is Luis Nomar Isaac Sánchez, tied to his first case for possessing an illegal weapon modified to fire automatically. The order was issued "without opposition" after federal prosecutor Laura Díaz González confirmed that case had been dismissed on December 17, 2024, once Sánchez was charged with drug trafficking-related crimes, including participation in the killing of police officer Eliezer Ramos Vélez.
Sánchez had posted a $100,000 bond in late 2024—$6,900 in cash and $93,100 secured against a Canóvanas property owned by relative Zaida Luz Isaac Delbrey. His motion sought exoneration of the bond, release of the real estate guarantee, and return of the property's original title documents, which the judge granted.
Prosecutors noted Sánchez, currently jailed, no longer needs the bond guarantee since he pleaded guilty under a plea agreement to two counts of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and possession of an automatic weapon to further a drug-trafficking crime—the crime being the officer's death. Sentencing is scheduled for October 21.
