Guayama Secures First Women's Baseball Postseason Berth

The Estrellas del Guamaní of Guayama secured the first women's baseball postseason berth in the Women's Baseball League 2026 by sweeping the Ponys of Santa Isabel in a doubleheader, improving their record to 7-1. Guayama won the first game 3-2 with a walk-off victory, with Valeria Rosado driving in the winning run and Valeria Negrón earning the win in relief.

In the second game, Guayama completed the sweep with an 11-1 victory, with Brichnelix Centeno driving in three runs and Anishka Aponte scoring three times. The Poetas of Juana Díaz moved closer to qualifying by defeating the Piratas of Cabo Rojo 15-0 and 22-9.

The defending champion Montañesas of Utuado split their doubleheader with the Artesanas of Las Piedras, retaining first place in the North section with a 6-2 record. The season will resume on Saturday with several matchups, including Cabo Rojo at Guayama and Juana Díaz at Santa Isabel.
