The Puerto Rico Police Department held a leadership workshop, 'Líderes que Impactan una Comunidad', on Saturday in Guayama, gathering 28 community leaders from various sectors. The event was organized by Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Luciano Rivas, commander of the Guayama Area, along with Sergeant Laiza Vázquez Rodríguez, director of the Community Relations Division, and Delisee Escalera, spokesperson for the Guayama Citizen Interaction Committee, in collaboration with Visión y Liderazgo.
Luis Bernier, a leadership trainer, led the workshop, covering topics such as personal growth, effective communication, teamwork, and community leadership. Participants also engaged in dynamics to identify needs and develop proposals to benefit their communities. The initiative aims to strengthen communication and collaboration with communities through citizen participation, prevention, and efforts to promote public safety.
Other participants included Lieutenant Colonel José Rivera, auxiliary commander of the Guayama Area, representatives from the Community Security Councils, and the Police Chaplains Corps.
