The Office of Third-Party Oversight (3PPO), represented by Osvaldo Carlo, sent a letter to Robert F. Mujica, Jr., Executive Director of the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico (Junta), responding to Mujica's public statements about the temporary power generation contract with Power Expectations, LLC. The 3PPO defended its actions, stating it provided complete information and responded to all requests during the bidding process, denying any omissions or lack of cooperation.
Carlo also addressed potential conflicts of interest related to Enchanted Rock (Erock) and New Fortress Energy (NFE), citing a law firm that represents both companies and also serves as a registered lobbyist for NFE, which provides legal services to the Junta. The 3PPO's response comes amid long-standing concerns about conflicts of interest within the Junta.
Carlo was emphatic in clarifying to Mujica that his public statements mischaracterizing the 3PPO's responses as partial and omitting relevant information, and claiming Carlo questioned the Junta's authority, were false.
