Puerto Rico Police reported five killings and one fatal traffic accident between Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27, 2026, according to a report from the Police Headquarters Press Office. Year-to-date, 330 killings have been recorded in 2026, four fewer than the 334 reported over the same period in 2025; fatal accidents total 175, down 24 from 199 in 2025.
No killings or fatal accidents occurred on Friday. On Saturday, three killings were reported: a double homicide in Santurce on Calle Las Flores at San Juan street, where two unidentified men (about 60 and 35 years old) were found shot; and in a Guaynabo shopping center, 67-year-old Lourdes Pérez Kercado died from multiple wounds during a dispute between two brothers, in which 22-year-old Jeremy Cabrera Rosa was also injured and hospitalized, and a 16-year-old was detained.
Early Sunday, another double homicide occurred on Calle 18 in Barrio Obrero, Santurce, with two unidentified men found shot, one inside a vehicle and one on the pavement. The lone fatal accident occurred Saturday in Dorado, when a Suzuki GSX 1300 motorcyclist lost control on PR-6165, hit a metal barrier, and was ejected, dying from his injuries.
Four people were shot but survived, in Guaynabo, Bayamón, Patillas, and Cidra. No suicides were reported.
