Yanira Reyes Gil has assumed the presidency of the Puerto Rico Bar Association for the 2026-2028 term. She announced that her administration will seek to expand public participation spaces, protect the profession's working conditions, and strengthen mental health services for its members. Reyes Gil expressed concerns about corruption, access to justice, essential services, public education, the press, the environment, and inequality.
She called on the organization to create spaces for discussing public issues and promoting collective participation. Reyes Gil was sworn in by Supreme Court Associate Judge Luis Estrella Martínez during a ceremony at the Bar Association's headquarters. After her swearing-in, she administered the oath to the members of the Board of Governors, who then held their constituent meeting to select the new Board of Directors.
Linsy López Murillo will occupy the first vice presidency, Kevin Rivera Medina the second vice presidency, Glorimar Acevedo Cruz as treasurer, Daniel Matos Meléndez as subtreasurer, Adriana Toro Ruiz as secretary, and Vladimir Román Rosario as subsecretary.
