Emil Rafael Colombo Bratini, a 29-year-old Cidra resident, was accused of impersonating a cooperative employee to obtain information and bank cards from an 82-year-old woman, and then withdrawing $20,000 from her account. The alleged incident occurred on August 18, 2026, in Salinas. Colombo Bratini was charged with elder abuse, aggravated illegal appropriation, identity theft, and illegal use or possession of credit and debit cards.
Judge Sylvia Saldaña of the Guayama Tribunal determined there was cause for arrest and set a $20,000 bond, which was not paid, leading to Colombo Bratini's incarceration in Ponce. The preliminary hearing is set for October 5. The investigation was led by Agent Ángel Anglada Suárez under the supervision of Sergeant Jocelyn Ramos Ortiz, with the case consulted with Prosecutor Lynette Velázquez Grau.
