A family is seeking blood and platelet donors for a couple hospitalized after a serious traffic accident in Manatí. Gendy Rivera Nevárez and Carlos Meléndez Guadalupe were involved in the accident on PR-149, which occurred when their Nissan Rogue was hit by a Dodge RAM 1500 driven by 23-year-old Edward J. Rivera Cordero, who allegedly ran a red light.
As a result, Rivera Nevárez underwent an emergency cesarean section and her baby is in stable condition. Meléndez Guadalupe also remains hospitalized, while their 13-year-old son is stable. Donors can visit the Centro Médico Blood Bank from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and must present a photo ID, indicating the donation is for Rivera Nevárez or Meléndez Guadalupe.
