The Inter Metro campus of the Universidad Interamericana and nearby buildings were evacuated this morning as a precautionary measure after a gas leak was reported on Francisco Seín street in Cupey, Caimito, according to the Puerto Rico Police. The situation was reported at 8:54 a.m. through a 9-1-1 emergency call, which alerted to a possible gas leak at the La Venganza business and the Shell garage.
Upon arrival, police officers were informed that two people were affected and were being treated by Emergency Medical Services personnel at the scene. The Fire Department and Emergency Management personnel are working to control the situation and determine the origin of the gas leak.
