A 49-year-old motorcyclist, José Daniel Rosa Díaz, died in a traffic accident on PR-781 in Comerío. The accident occurred at approximately 3:18 a.m. in the La Prieta neighborhood. According to a preliminary police report, Rosa Díaz was driving a red 2024 Fengyuan Tank motorcycle at a speed greater than the permitted limit when he lost control and fell onto the pavement, hitting an earth embankment and sustaining fatal head injuries.
A helmet was found at the scene, but it is presumed that Rosa Díaz was not wearing it properly as it was not buckled. The road is currently closed due to the investigation, and the police recommend using PR-156 towards Aguas Buenas as an alternate route. Lieutenant Alexander Rodríguez of the Highway Patrol Division reported that the driver fell into the ditch and onto the pavement, and preliminary observations indicate that he suffered head injuries.
