Puerto Rico Police Superintendent Joseph González assured that authorities will enforce the law in the case of a 23-year-old driver involved in a traffic accident that left a family severely injured in Manatí. The accident occurred when the driver's vehicle collided with a van carrying a family returning from a baby shower, resulting in serious injuries to the couple and a premature birth for the pregnant woman.
A 13-year-old minor also required medical attention. González stated that the Highway Patrol Division is paying special attention to irresponsible drivers and that the Police arrest over 100 people weekly for driving under the influence of alcohol. The superintendent emphasized that the goal of road interventions is not just to issue fines, but to prevent tragedies and save lives.
