The sixth edition of 'Chefs Tapeando contra el Cáncer' raised over $100,500 for the American Cancer Society in Puerto Rico, exceeding its goal of $100,000. The event, held on September 27 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, featured a gastronomic tour with 34 chefs from 31 restaurants and culinary projects, offering tapas with Puerto Rican flavors, seafood, Asian-inspired dishes, and desserts.
Over 600 people participated, and the event also included the participation of mixologist Jessica Morales and live music. The funds raised will support the American Cancer Society's programs and services in Puerto Rico, including the Puerto Rico Hope Lodge, which provides temporary and free accommodation to cancer patients and their companions. Chef Luis Rodríguez, president of the event, expressed that the support represents hope and solidarity for those going through difficult times.
The event served as a meeting point for the gastronomic community, which supports cancer patients and their families through their restaurants, kitchens, and projects.
