The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the Villas de Río Grande urbanization in Río Grande. According to a police report, a man was robbed of $6,500 in jewelry by two individuals who approached him as he was leaving his residence. The suspects, who were armed, intimidated and threatened the victim before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
The victim was not injured. Agents from the Fajardo Division of Robberies of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) are continuing the investigation. The public is asked to call 787-343-2020 if they have any information that can help clarify this or other cases. The incident occurred on Friday morning.
