The municipality of San Juan has formed an alliance with the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce to expand business opportunities for local merchants and entrepreneurs. The two-year agreement, signed by Mayor Miguel A. Romero Lugo, includes training, economic intelligence sharing, and international trade missions. The partnership aims to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises, attract investment, and develop innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

One of the first steps will be a bilateral mission with Bogotá, Colombia, to identify commercial opportunities and establish business connections. The alliance also plans to identify underutilized properties for rehabilitation into business, educational, and innovation spaces. José 'Che' Julio Aparicio Laspina, president of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, stated that the goal is to provide access to information, training, business connections, and new markets.

A commission will be established to oversee the agreement, which is part of San Juan's newly initiated Economic Transformation Plan.
