Why this matters: The destruction of a home in Miramar puts a household at risk of displacement and underscores the importance of fire safety in San Juan’s densely populated neighborhoods.

A wooden residence located on the second floor of a property on Hoare Street in Miramar, San Juan, was destroyed by a fire reported on the afternoon of October 3. The fire was reported at 2:05 PM and caused the total loss of the home, confirmed Ivonne Rosario, spokesperson for the Fire Department. However, the flames did not spread to neighboring residences.

Rosario also stated that no one was injured as a result of the fire.
