Why this matters: The expansion of Boccado’s Divino creates jobs and contributes to the local economy, particularly in the Santurce and Río Piedras areas.

Víctor Manuel Lebrón Guzmán, a Dominican immigrant, arrived in Puerto Rico 24 years ago and has since become the owner of the successful restaurant Boccado’s Divino in San Juan. Lebrón Guzmán worked as a waiter, cook, and even sold traditional dishes from a street stand before opening his first restaurant in 2012 with an investment of $60,000.

The restaurant, located in Santurce, operated for over six years before moving to the Puerto Rico Bar Association headquarters. Recently, Lebrón Guzmán inaugurated a second location at the Centro para Puerto Rico Sila M. Calderón in Río Piedras, creating over 30 jobs between the two establishments. At 50 years old, Lebrón Guzmán attributes his success to his perseverance and faith, saying 'behind every effort, God comes first, and if you also strive, everything is possible.'
