Puerto Rico will host 17 Miss Universe candidates from international destinations this week, from October 6 to 9, to showcase the island’s diverse tourist attractions. The candidates, representing countries such as the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Canada, will be accompanied by local hosts who will guide them in discovering Puerto Rico’s culture, history, gastronomy, nature, and hospitality.
Miss Universe Puerto Rico, Jennifer Barreto, will join as the 18th candidate and play a special role as host. The Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico aims to maximize international exposure through the Miss Universe celebration, which is expected to have an economic impact of $80 million to $100 million. The candidates will share their experiences on their digital platforms, promoting Puerto Rico as a tourist destination.
Three special guests will also visit the island as part of the initiative, accompanied by Miss Universe Puerto Rico.
