Why this matters: The collaboration between Dough and Chocolate Cortés brings traditional Puerto Rican flavors to a new audience, promoting the island’s culinary heritage and providing a unique treat for locals and visitors alike.

Dough and Chocolate Cortés have collaborated to launch two new cookies inspired by traditional Puerto Rican flavors: hot chocolate and quesito. The new cookies, Chocolate Caliente and Choco Quesito, are now available at Dough locations in Bayamón and Guaynabo. Chocolate Caliente combines Dough’s cookie dough with pieces of the iconic Chocolate Cortés bar, while Choco Quesito features a chocolate puff pastry, creamy cheese filling, and Forteza 50% Milk Chocolate.

Ignacio Javier Cortés Shehab, executive vice president of Cortés Hermanos, said the collaboration brings familiar flavors into new formats, connecting the company’s legacy with new generations. Jathniel Ponce, founder and CEO of Dough LLC, said the partnership is about presenting familiar flavors in a different way, rather than creating new ones. The idea for the collaboration emerged at the Coffee & Chocolate Expo, where representatives from both companies met to explore how iconic Puerto Rican flavors could be reinterpreted through Dough’s contemporary approach to cookies.
