Why this matters: For Puerto Rican baseball fans, Hernández’s achievement adds to the island’s legacy in the sport, following in the footsteps of other notable players like Carlos Beltrán and David Ortiz.

Enrique 'Kike' Hernández, a Puerto Rican baseball player, hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning against Chris Sale, leading the Dodgers to a 3-1 win over the Braves in the third game of the National League Division Series. This home run was Hernández’s 17th in his postseason career, breaking a tie with Hall of Famer Carlos Beltrán and tying him with David Ortiz, Aaron Judge, and Jim Thome.
