A father and son, Ulpiano Claudio Contreras, 58, and Jean C. Claudio Rodríguez, 29, were charged with assault and threatening behavior towards an elderly couple, their tenants, in San Lorenzo on October 3. The investigation found that the defendants physically assaulted and threatened the 62-year-old male tenant, who was allegedly hit with a golf club by Claudio Rodríguez, resulting in an open head wound requiring medical attention.
The victim’s partner, also 62, was assaulted by Claudio Rodríguez. The case was reviewed by prosecutor Julio Rojas, who presented evidence to Judge Karina Díaz Pérez, leading to an arrest warrant and a $105,000 bond for both defendants. As they failed to post bail, they were admitted to the Bayamón Correctional Complex.
A preliminary hearing is set for October 15. Agent Francisco Fonseca, from the San Lorenzo police district, led the arrests and investigation.
