A Bayamón municipal police sergeant, José Luis Hernández Rivera, faces an ethics complaint for at least nine unwanted sexual advances against a female police officer. The complaint, filed on October 1, alleges that the incidents occurred between July 1, 2025, and September 23, while Hernández Rivera was a supervisor of the Bayamón Motorized Unit and the female officer’s supervisor.

The complaint details each incident, including an August 18 incident where Hernández Rivera kissed the officer and pressed his pelvis against her. The Municipality of Bayamón has not immediately responded to a request for information on Hernández Rivera’s employment status. Hernández Rivera joined the Bayamón police in 2002 and was promoted to sergeant in June 2022.
