Ricardo Fuentes Ramírez discusses the concept of social and solidarity economy in Puerto Rico. The social and solidarity economy refers to a set of organizations and enterprises that prioritize social and democratic principles. This concept is not limited to cooperativism, but also includes community projects, non-profit organizations, and other forms of economic organization.

The Puerto Rico Association of Economists has established a Committee on Social and Solidarity Economy to promote education, discussion, and strengthening of this economy. The committee has published the first edition of El Boletín Solidario, a newsletter that aims to create a space for observing and discussing the social and solidarity economy in Puerto Rico.

The newsletter presents initiatives, news, and international developments related to the social and solidarity economy. The committee hopes that its work will contribute to the growth of the social and solidarity economy in Puerto Rico.
