Genesis, a luxury vehicle brand, announced its entry into the high-performance electric vehicle segment in Puerto Rico with the introduction of the new Magma generation, led by the GV60 Magma, a sports utility vehicle that combines sports features with luxury technology and comfort. The new Genesis GV60 Magma, priced at $89,905, has two electric motors capable of generating up to 650 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in approximately 3.4 seconds.
According to Pablo Martínez, president and CEO of Genesis in Puerto Rico, the introduction of Magma represents a significant moment in the evolution of Genesis in Puerto Rico, expanding the brand’s offerings and entering a new space in the luxury market. The GV60 Magma features a four-wheel drive system, two electric motors, and a combined power output of 609 horsepower, which can be temporarily increased to 650 horsepower in Boost mode.
The vehicle has a top speed of approximately 164 miles per hour and an electric range autonomy with an 84 kWh battery and an 800-volt fast charging system. The Magma Mode function allows for adjustments to various vehicle parameters for a more sports-oriented driving experience. The GV60 Magma’s design features a lower and wider body, aerodynamic elements, and 21-inch wheels, with a distinctive Magma Orange color inspired by South Korea’s volcanic landscapes.
The interior includes sports seats, leather finishes, and acoustic insulation elements for occupant comfort. Martínez emphasized that the new model offers the design, sophistication, and attention to detail that Genesis is known for, now accompanied by a level of performance and driving experience that allows the brand to connect with an even broader audience.
