The town of San Germán has resumed the traditional Fiestas del Poblado Rosario after a decade, with this year’s event dedicated to the Laura Mercado School. The festivities feature musical activities, a gastronomic fair, and the sale of handicrafts. Mayor Virgilio Olivera Olivera highlighted that the return of the festivities aims to rescue an activity expected by the community and support local merchants.
As part of the celebration, the town recognized Agustina 'Cuchi' Ramírez Pagán, who worked 26 years at the Laura Mercado School, and teacher Luis A. Príncipe 'Míster Príncipe' Miró, for their years of service. Others, including the late Gerónimo Sigfredo Ramos Rodríguez, were also honored for their community participation. Today’s programming includes free amusement park rides for children and young people from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, as well as live music and the presentation of the Rumba Caliente group, which will close the night.
