On Monday, agents from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Puerto Rico Police’s Fuerzas Unidas de Rápida Acción (FURA) seized 69 blocks of apparent cocaine from a vessel in Fajardo waters and arrested four individuals, aged 19 to 35. A confidential call alerted authorities to a suspicious boat with four occupants and several bundles near Puerto Rico’s east coast at 12:50 PM. FURA personnel spotted a 24-foot Trophy boat with a 250-horsepower engine near Palomino Island and initiated a pursuit.

During the intervention, the boat’s occupants threw the bundles into the water. Authorities recovered the packages, containing the apparent cocaine, and detained the individuals. The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Puerto Rico took jurisdiction of the case.
