Nieves Colón, the mother of late Puerto Rican boxer Prichard Colón, shared an emotional message on Facebook two months after her son’s passing. She expressed the profound pain she continues to face without her son, whom she dedicated years of care and unconditional love to. Colón recounted visiting her son’s grave and removing some of the objects and memories she had placed there, describing it as one of the most difficult and painful things she has had to do.

Prichard Colón died on August 13 in Florida at the age of 33, after years of battling severe neurological sequelae from a professional fight against Terrel Williams in 2015. Nieves had been by her son’s side throughout his struggles and is now facing the difficult process of continuing without his physical presence. She assured that removing the objects from the grave does not mean letting go of the memories or love she feels for him, and that she hopes to place some of them back in the cemetery while keeping others at home.

In her message, Nieves also expressed her faith and asked for strength to cope with her son’s absence.
