Why this matters: For San Juan and Guaynabo residents with pending PAN requests, this special session offers an opportunity to complete their applications and access necessary benefits.

In Puerto Rico, the Department of the Family will hold a special session on Saturday, October 17, to address backlogged appointments, recertifications, and pending requests for the Nutritional Assistance Program (PAN) for residents of San Juan and Guaynabo. The session will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Pedrín Zorrilla Coliseum in San Juan, under the coordination of the Administration of Socioeconomic Development of the Family (ADSEF).

According to Family Secretary Suzanne Roig Fuertes, the department is concentrating its efforts to maximize available resources and provide effective attention to participants. During the session, staff will attend to new PAN requests, recertification processes, and pending appointments. The department has made operational adjustments to concentrate personnel and resources on this activity, aiming to reduce wait times.

This effort is part of the department’s broader initiative to expedite PAN services, including the establishment of a satellite office dedicated to processing internal files and pending requests.
