Why this matters: The competition supports local entrepreneurship and provides an opportunity for Puerto Rican businesses to grow and connect with new consumers.

In Puerto Rico, five local businesses are competing in the sixth edition of Travesía al Éxito Empresarial, an initiative by Plaza Las Américas and Popular. The finalists, selected from ten semifinalists, represent various industries, including food, beauty, and ornamental plants. They will present their products to consumers during the Travesía al Éxito Showcase on October 16 and 17 at Plaza Las Américas.

The winner, to be announced on November 10, will receive $20,000 in seed capital and the opportunity to operate a cart in Plaza Las Américas for a year. The winner will also receive eight business mentorship sessions sponsored by Popular and participation in the Next 2027 program for entrepreneurs. The finalists are One Bite Desserts, Crumb Pastries, Zazona, New Adara Nails, and Verdelias, and were chosen for their unique proposals and potential for growth.

During the Showcase, visitors can meet the entrepreneurs, learn about their products, and purchase them, allowing the businesses to evaluate their customer service, product presentation, and sales capabilities.
