American entertainment producer Tyler Perry has purchased a $30 million mansion in Puerto Rico, with plans to establish a production office and film on the island, according to TMZ. The 14,475-square-foot property, located in a private community with controlled access, features five bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a movie theater, open kitchen, pool, and gym. Perry, also a filmmaker, is known for creating and portraying the character of Madea in a popular comedy film and theater franchise.
He intends to keep his studios in Atlanta running while expanding to Puerto Rico. The acquisition occurs as Puerto Rico has become a destination for investors and high-profile individuals, attracted by tax incentives under the Puerto Rico Incentives Code, known as Law 60-2019. This program offers benefits to individuals who meet residency and income requirements.
Perry’s possible expansion to Puerto Rico would add to the presence of other entertainment figures, such as Logan and Jake Paul, who have established residential ties to the island. In September, Perry announced he would move to Puerto Rico seeking a quieter location and more time with his son.
