Aguadilla Launches AI Assistant AIDA for Residents via WhatsApp

Published Oct 18, 2026, 9:00 AM ASTvia WAPA TV

Why this matters: Aguadilla residents can now report potholes, broken streetlights and abandoned vehicles, and check on-duty pharmacy hours, anytime via WhatsApp instead of visiting the town hall.

The town of Aguadilla in Puerto Rico launched AIDA, the Intelligent Assistant of Aguadilla, an artificial intelligence tool that lets residents handle municipal transactions and report problems through WhatsApp free of charge, available 24 hours a day. The initiative is attached to the Office of Community Affairs and Social Development and is intended to make interaction with the municipal administration easier.

Through the WhatsApp platform, residents can complete procedures and file reports directly. Among the services available are community reports, such as notifying officials of potholes in roads, damaged streetlight poles and abandoned vehicles; municipal services, offering guidance and detailed information about procedures, requests and services of the mayor’s office; and general-interest information, including the hours of on-duty pharmacies, health centers and a schedule of cultural activities.

Residents who wish to start using the service must send a WhatsApp message to 939-313-0935.
