Dominican guard Jassel Pérez scored 40 points on Saturday night as FIATC Girona beat Leyma Coruña 110–90 in the Spanish league, the club where Puerto Rican center George Conditt IV plays. Pérez, who strengthened the Vaqueros de Bayamón during their 2026 championship run in Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional last August, made nine of 13 three-point attempts, a franchise record, plus a perfect 3-of-3 on two-pointers and 7-of-7 on free throws, with four steals.
His 40 points matched the mark of fellow Dominican Antonio 'Chicho' Sibilio, who scored 40 in the Spanish league in 1986. Girona, also competing in the Eurocup, holds a 2–2 record in the young season, with Pérez leading the team in scoring at 23.2 points per game. Conditt IV, who plays for the Gigantes de Carolina-Canóvanas in the BSN, finished with 12 points and five rebounds for Coruña (1–3).
