Puerto Rican comedian and creator Rubén “El Mago y Yo” will tour his new stand-up comedy show “Gordofobia” across three towns starting in November, produced by IQ Entertainment. The show opens on Saturday, November 7, at 8:00 PM at the Teatro Balboa Armando “Chucho” Avellanet in Mayagüez, continues on Saturday, November 21, at 8:00 PM at the Café Teatro Punto Fijo of the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce, and closes on Saturday, December 5, at 8:00 PM at the Teatro Braulio Castillo in Bayamón.

This is not a show for feeling offended, it is for laughing at what we have all thought, said or done at some point.

According to the comedian, “Gordofobia” tackles social criticism, prejudices and self-perception with a satirical, direct approach, built on the question of whether the conflict lies in the body or in the gaze of others. “This is not a show for feeling offended, it is for laughing at what we have all thought, said or done at some point. If you laugh, you’re cured,” the artist said in written statements.

Through absurd theories and unfiltered observational humor, the piece satirizes everyday behaviors and body stigmas that persist in society. Tickets for all performances are available through Pietix.com.
