In Puerto Rico, prosecutor Marta Berríos Acosta filed a child abuse charge against Lisa Zayas Rodríguez, 60, for events that occurred on July 12. Agent Erika Espada’s investigation, assigned to the Sexual Crimes and Child Abuse Division of the Guayama Criminal Investigation Corps, found that Zayas Rodríguez allegedly yelled at a 4-year-old girl in her care as a foster and substitute home of the Department of the Family.
Judge Cynthia Vázquez Peña, after evaluating the evidence, determined probable cause for arrest and set bail at $2,000, which was posted.
