Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Lyanno, whose real name is Edgardo Cuevas Feliciano, is expanding his career beyond performing. In a telephone interview with Primera Hora from Miami, Florida, he announced a new entrepreneurship venture: the record label Dirty Players, in partnership with Jean Lasalle. Nearly ten years after he started releasing music on SoundCloud, and after a period signed to Rimas Entertainment, he now owns his masters and counts Universal Masters as a partner that will release his next project.
The label aims to support new talent, with several artists already in development. His next single, "Estamos afuera," a reggaeton track he compares to "Lokera," his earlier collaboration with Rauw and Brray, is set for release on November 5. He is also working on a new album planned for next year, which he describes as more commercial, moving and colorful, with more reggaeton and Afro rhythms while keeping his R&B essence.
During Billboard Latin Music Week, Lyanno took part in the panel "Beyond the Algorithm: From Viral Moment to Global Fanbase," where he shared advice with aspiring artists. A graduate of the Escuela Libre de Música Ernesto Ramos Antonini in San Juan and a sound engineer, he also answered questions from Berklee College of Music students.
