A 15-year-old suffered a femur fracture after crashing a two-wheeled mini bike on Saturday on PR-316 at kilometer 2.4, in the interior of the Candela neighborhood in Lajas. The Puerto Rico Police Bureau said a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted authorities to the incident. When officers arrived, they were told the teenager struck a sign while driving the mini bike, lost control and fell to the pavement.
The minor was taken to a hospital in the area, where the physician on duty diagnosed a fractured femur. His condition was described as stable. The Sexual Crimes Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) of Mayagüez, in coordination with the Department of the Family, is handling the investigation.
