A family in Yauco, Puerto Rico has denounced the deteriorated condition of the narrow, pothole-ridden road they must travel to take their elderly mother to medical appointments, urging municipal and state authorities to urgently address the situation. The relatives of Ramona Castillo, an octogenarian who requires assistance to travel, say they must drive with extreme caution to avoid the holes and irregularities along the road, which has become part of their daily routine.
The route poses an even greater challenge for Castillo herself, who uses an oxygen tank and must go down the deteriorated road to reach her medical appointments. The family reported that traveling on the damaged road makes access to medical services difficult and is calling on authorities to fix it.
